KIN29, a Japan-based company, sought to introduce its line of 1/6 scale figurines—based on the popular wrestling-themed anime and manga Kinnikuman—to the American market. Recognizing the series' rich narrative and diverse cast of charismatic characters, the promotional focus centered on one of its most pivotal story arcs: Scramble for the Throne. This arc features a compelling lineup of six characters, each derived from and closely connected to the series' protagonist.

Challenge

The primary challenge was achieving the right balance between realism and dynamic action in the design inspiration drawn from the figurines. As Kinnikuman is also known for its distinct comedic elements, the creative direction needed to reflect both the intensity and unique personality of each of the six featured characters and their individual storylines.

Result

By leveraging a bold color scheme, striking typography, and fiery visual elements, the goal was to convey the passion and intensity embodied by the figurine series and ensure that energy resonated with the audience. Beyond the video content, the design layouts were crafted to be visually expressive—emphasizing motion and guiding the viewer’s eye from top to bottom to explore each character’s dynamic pose and backstory in detail.
